After quite a bit of asking old timers questions, I found out this is an Antique saw setter. It was done with the foot pedal which is depressed when you want it to snap open and closed. The saw is held in the setter and it would be snapped to bend it out. Any I,m not really sure how they used it, I do know that when it is secured to a table and the foot is on the floor you can depress the foot pedal and the chain attached will snap open and shut the setter T is a ,"Pat. Date July 12, 10" on one side and the other side has "Buckeye". It's all t and no broken parts. The foot pedal is 11" long, 3" wideThe setter is 9 1/2" long and 4 1/2" tall. Chain is about 34" long.
