This is a cast iron waffle maker. It's origin is thought to be from the Wrought Iron Range Company of St. Louis. This waffle iron has a unique feature which allow the waffle plate to swivel 360 degrees which allows one side to cook the waffle and then flip over at the touch of the finger to cook the other side. The only identifying marks are a 7 8 on the top cover of the iron. It is a two piece mechanism. The cradle and the swivel plate.
