You are bidding on an antique,ceramic, Boots Chemist "Areca Nut Tooth Paste" jar or "pot lid " as they are referred to. It measures 2 3/4" in diameter and stands 1 1/4" tall when the lid is in place on the base section. FOR VIEWERS WHO MAY NOT BE FAMILIAR WITH THESE DELIGHTFUL LITTLE LIDDED JARS....THEY WERE USED BETWEEN APPROX. 1840-1920 TO MARKET VARIOUS PRODUCTS WHICH CAME IN A PASTE FORM. AFTER WWI THEY BECAME OBSOLETE AS MORE MODERN AND ECONOMICAL FORMS OF PACKAGING REPLACED THEM.
