A FANTASTIC FULLY RESTORED IN LIKE NEW CONDITION CHELSEA SHIPS CLOCK. THIS CHELSEA SHIP'S BELL CLOCK WAS FIRST CALLED THE BASE AND BALL MODEL, THEN WAS RENAMED THE COMMODORE IN 1917, AND AGAIN RENAMED THE CONSTITUTION. THIS IS ONE OF THE EARLIEST OF THESE CLOCK WITH A SERIAL NUMBER OF 20252. THE MOVEMENT IS FULLY MARKED CHELSEA AND NUMBER 20252. THE MAHOGANY WOOD PIECE BENEATH THE BASE IS ALSO MARKED 20252. THIS SERIAL NUMBER DATES IT TO APPROX. 1907. IT HAS A 6 INCH SPECIAL DIAL WITH RAISED ATTACHED NUMBERS AND SERPENTINE HANDS IN A POLISHED YELLOW BRASS CASE. THE DIAL IS MARKED BAILEY. BANKS, & BIDDLE PHILADELPHIA AND SHIPS BELL. IT HAS ITS ORIGINAL CHELSEA WINDING KEY. STRIKES THE CORRECT SHIP'S BELL SEQUENCE, AND IS RUNNING 8 DAYS AND VERY ACCURATE. FULLY SERVICED RECENTLY. IN THE PICTURE YOU CAN SEE THE BLACK SHIPPING PIN ON THE WINDING ARBOR FOR THE CHIMES THAT IS USED TO KEEP HANDS IN PLACE FOR SHIPPING SAFETY. THIS PIECE WILL BE WELLL PACKED AND DOUBLE BOXED FOR SAFETY. SHIPPING INSURANCE IS ADVISED ON THIS ITEM. YOU WILL BE VERY VERY HARD PRESSED TO FIND A VERY EARLY PIECE IN THIS KIND OF CONDITION.
