You bidding on a pair of authentic Mexican "Chihuahua" style spurs. These most likely date circa 1850's thru early 1900's. Obviously t's no official date stamped on them, but style wise they are definalely from that period because of the large rowels and forged style. The rowels are 3 1/2" and have eight spikes on each spur, the spurs body from side to side measures 8 1/2" X 1 1/4" wide for each spur. Both have a nice patina and have a protective coating. They are very closely matched (very difficult to find matched spurs from early period).I'm a cowboy leathersmith and made the straps which are antiqued and stamped to have the broken in look. Both straps have 1/4" brass studs and each comes with beautiful nickel conchos with an early brass version of the Mexican Eagle emblem. Each measures 2 1/2" in circumferance. These spurs and spur straps make beautiful wall hangers and are a must for collectors. Serious bidders only please.Sorry to have a reserve but these are hard to find. Happy bidding (Note the conchos are reproduction and not original).
