T his item is from a large estate collection of antique & vintage Asian jewellery and collectibles. The previous owner was a 40 year resident of Hong Kong who was a member of the Hong Kong Club and who worked in association with the Governor of Hong Kong Lord MacLehose of Beoch during the 1970's. The vast majority of the pieces are jewellery related including antique & vintage jade, precious gemstone and costume jewellery items. All items are being offered as found and without any reserve. THE ITEM's DESCRIPTION: This *RARE* absolutely INCREDIBLE and exquisitely DETAILED antique mid to late 19th century CHINESE highly decorative intricately braided small round vivid deep ornage-red color genuine coral bead cord, ball, heart & tassel drop style necklace measures approximately 17 1/2" in length with the heart shaped pendant tassel drop measuring 3 3/4" X 1 1/8". This necklace is made up of hundreds and hundreds of small approximately 2.5mm in diameter genuine coral beads. The beads are NOT glass or imitation coral but rather genuine red coral of the finest quality . The overall antique condition is mixed and there is some damage and loss noted. However, the vast majority of the necklace is intact and the heart shaped pendant tassel drop is in excellent & complete condition. The cord portion or necklace portion shows several areas of damage/loss that would require repair. Also the clasp is partially missing. With some restoration, this would be a magnificent piece. Coral of this color and quality is now extinct!!!! A truly RARE antique piece!!!!! SUPERB QUALITY AND FAR, FAR NICER THAN SHOWN!!!
