Antique Chinese Export Large Apricot Pilgrim Vase c1880 Rare Moon Shaped Porcelain Mandarins Birds 19th Century Description Antique Chinese Porcelain Mandarin Large Apricot Pilgrim, Moon Shaped Vase, The estimated date is circa 1880. This monumental Pilgrim Vase, or large Moon Flask Vase, is decorated with colorful large reserves and symbols, is well enameled, and includes stylized border with background beautifully decorated with colors including apricot, rose pink, green, light blue, yellow, and gilding. The vase features front central reserves with colorful birds and flowers; the other side has Mandarin style characters from Chinese opera. This is an original vase, antique and rare. Each of the dragon handles is in relief and gilded; the top rim edge is gilded; the underside bottom is glazed, and the rim foot is unglazed. Dimensions Dimensions: 20.7 in. High X 15 in. Wide X 4.2 in. Deep (52.6 X 38.1 X 10.7 cm) Weight 12 Lbs. 14.5 Oz. (5.85 kg.) Condition Overall, the large Pilgrim Vase is in good condition, with restorations, as noted: One of the gold dragon handles has been restored at the tail, and the gold other dragon handle has been re-attached, old repairs done professionally.
