Being offered in this sale is a big, bold and gutsy early Chinese export punch bowl that I believe dates to the early 1800s. It measures 15" in diameter and is 6" deep. The pattern on the outside is a continous scene rather than individual scenes contained within cartouches. The colors are just great. Although at first glance it looks, and sounds, to be in great condition, close examination reveals that the bowl had been broken at one time into several pieces and VERY HIGHLY PROFESSIONALLY restored. Someone spent A LOT of money to have this piece repaired. In mint condition I believe a piece such as this would fetch several thousand dollars so I am sure it was well worth it. A great addition for any Rose Medallion export China collection. The last three images illustrate a number of other pieces from a Greenwich, CT estate that I am listing separately on Ebay over the next few days.
