This is an antique Chinese export silver cigarette case i n good condition with no dents or scratches. The catch is sound and snaps shut and opens without any problem. The hinge is in good condition. It is marked with Chinese characters and the intitals "WA" next to the catch, but my camera is not good enough to take a close-up of this. I am not sure how old it is, possibly c 1920? I think as it belonged to my grandfather. It has embossed decoration and slightly rounded corners. One side is embossed with a branch carrying blossoms, a flying bird and an unengraved cartouche. The other side has what appears to be a dragon's head at the bottom and a flower/orchid rising behind it. The inside seems to be gilt. Please ask if you have any questions. Length 73mm; Width 49mm; Depth 6mm.
