Description
This antique Chinese export porcelain plate is decorated in underglaze bleu and overglaze red and gold, the famous Imari style. This plate is an excellent example of the use of this style during the 2nd half of the 18th century. Remarkably, there is still a substantial amount of the gold highlights present. The decoration itself consists of a peony bouquet surrounded by several smaller peony groups. Diameter 9 inches (23 cm).
Age
Qianlong, circa 1760. Guaranteed over 200 years old.
Condition
Virtually perfect, with only a minute 0.1-inch frit to the reverse rim.
