You are bidding on a very old carved, signed SOLID IVORY statue from China dating back to the late 1700's-early 1800's. I had this ivory piece appraised by an Asian artifacts expert. The carving depicts a female immortal with a chignon hairstyle, holding a peach branch. She is wearing a long soft belt over a long sleeved, loose robe. The carving is accented with ink and traces of remaining colors. The work is extremely detailed on her face and fingers, with incised designs on her robe, the drapes of the robe, and her belt. It sits on a well-carved floral petal hardwood stand. The bottom of the statue is marked (Please see photo) and the bottom of the carved wood stand is stamped China . The statue is separate from the stand, which I showed in pictures. The stand is included and will keep it separated for shipping. Condition: The ivory is a solid piece (Not hollow) and in good condition with restorable damage. I will include both broken pieces so that you may easily repair (Please see photos): A part of the stem she is hold is broken (I will include the piece), The front part of her chignon has broken off (I will include the piece) Fine hairlines in ivory due to age Dimensions: 11 ¼ inches tall including hardwood stand 10 inches tall (Ivory woman only) 2 ¼ inches wide This was my great grandmother's who was an avid collector read more
