This was given to me from my friend who went to china to study. The family he lived with while t, gave him this sword as a thank you as a good luck momento. He then gave it to me since I collect asian artifacts. Tye family he lived with said that it was over two hundred years old. I can't even imagine how many hands this sword has been through. Thats pretty cool if you think about it. The handle of this beutiful sword has a 2 1/2" dragon head on the end. The sword is 12" in length. The blade is 2" wide. The handle is 9" long and ivory. The handle and the Holster are made of ivory and has a brown or camel color sequenced in through the sword, looks more like the camel coloring was used for shading to enhance the design if the sword. The sword design looks like fish scales or "dragon" scales I suppose. The weight is surprisingly heavier than you would expect. I would assume between 5-10 pounds. The sword has an old blue type ribbon wrapped around the the top half of the "holster" (the part w the sword goes into). This is a great looking sword has been passed down through the generations and now it has come to America. Lets see w it goes next.
