T his item is from a large estate collection of antique & vintage Asian jewellery and collectibles. The previous owner was a 40 year resident of Hong Kong who was a member of the Hong Kong Club and who worked in association with the Governor of Hong Kong Lord MacLehose of Beoch during the 1970's. The vast majority of the pieces are jewellery related including antique & vintage jade, precious gemstone and costume jewellery items. All items are being offered as found and without any reserve. THE ITEM's DESCRIPTION: This pair of absolutely MAGNIFICENT and exquisitely DETAILED antique CHINESE late 19th or early 20th century (possibly even older) entirely hand-crafted sterling silver vermeil kingfisher feather inset & genuine carnelian agate gemstone bead fringe drop pierced earrings measures approximately 3" in length by 1 1/4" wide. The structural condition of these earrings is pretty good. There are only two condition notes with respect to the structure of these earrings. First, there is one of the fringe drops missing on one of the earrings. The earrings are supposed to have seven fringe long stick drops and one earrings has six. The second condition note deals with the top crane head or bird's head decoration of the earrings. On one of the earrings, it is missing. The other obvious condition note has to do with the fact that most of the kingfisher feather inset is missing. These are old very beautiful and complex pendant drop Chinese earrings. The earrings have an approximate gram weight of 16.7 grams. SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT!!!! SUPERB QUALITY & FAR, FAR NICER THAN SHOWN!!!!
