These are the most beautiful antique Kingfisher earrings I have ever seen. Dating from the 1900’s, they were probably made from hair ornaments. Set in gold-colored brass, they are fully articulated in three sections: a butterfly top, floral center, and bird and wreath bottom. The teal blue kingfisher feathers on the front are in exceptional condition, with virtually no loss that I can find. The backs are plain brass. The earrings are for pierced ears with shepherd hooks. They dangle brass “fringe” from each section – none is missing. The only defect I see is a tiny amount of brass missing from the small flower in the middle of the center section of one earring – not even noticeable. The earrings measure 3 ¾ inches long by 1 inch wide at the widest point – impressive!
