Antique Chinese Lowestoft TEAPOT Berry Knob and Double Handle 18th Century Fine Condition Up for auction is a fine early piece of Chinese Lowestoft ca. 18th century. This Beautiful Cylindrical Antique Tea Pot measures 5" in diameter by 6" tall to the top of the lid knob, and 9½" from handle to spout. The Tea Pot has double handles crossed and fastened to the main body of the piece with raised leaves and flowers. The 3¼" lid has a distinctive Berry Knob. Adorned with a simple gold gilt floral design on both sides, showing little wear. The Tea Pot displays as an exquisite early piece. There is a very small chip on the inside lip (see photo), which does not detract from the beauty of this piece. Otherwise, no cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. Consistent with its antique age, there are no manufacturer's or maker's marks. Nor is there any evidence of abrasion or bottom grounding to remove such a mark.
