This is an authentic Chinese antique that was brought to the U.S. in the late 1920s by our family. They had been in China for two generations, from the mid 1800s until the stock market crash in 1929. I am no expert on these antiques, so please feel free to ask questions. I researched each item as fully as possible. This is a very simple robe made of a burnished gold color gold silk gauze. It could possibly have been worn under the Dragon Manchu Robe we have also listed, as the shape and the buttons match. The fabric is very simple and beautiful. T are medallions of dragons and other figures woven into the fabric, these were difficult to photograph. It is entirely sewn by hand. The overlap is to the right and the robe has slits in the front and back. The sleeves of the robe are very long and end in a Manchu horse hoof cuffs lined in vibrant blue silk. The condition of the robe is excellent. T are spots of very light staining, again difficult to photograph. I photographed this robe under the Dragon Robe, if you'd like to see that picture please look at our other listings. We have listed Qing Dynasty era Civil and Military Badges, as well as a dragon Ceremonial skirt. Thank you for looking! Shipping for this item will be $8.95 in the U.S. We do ship worldwide, please inquire for rates. We accept paypal and money orders. Please e-mail with any questions!
