ANTIQUE CHINESE SOAPSTONE CARVING You are bidding on an Antique Soapstone Sculpture of a Phoenix Bird feeding on Chrysanthemum Blossoms that was carved in China around the end of the 19th Century or the beginning of the 20th Century. It does not have any markings identifying who, w, when or for whom it was carved. The sculpture stands over 9 ¼ inches high and measures 6 ¼ inches from side-to-side, and 1 ½ inches from front-to-back. The sculpture is carved with much detail and the gray soapstone has developed a brownish patina. Overall, it is in excellent condition, without any chips, cracks, or scratches that would detract from its beauty or lower its value. We hope you like it. Good luck bidding.
