Antique Chinese Solid Silver Novelty Miniature Water Pale or Bucket Shape Salt or Spice Pot c. 1890 This Antique Chinese Salt or Spice Pot measures approximately 1 1/2 inches or 38 mm across the width or diameter of its upper rim from side to side by just over 1 1/8 inches or 30 mm across the width or diameter of its foot rim or base, it stands 1 3/8 inches or 35 mm tall to the tops of its rope like handles on its upper rim and it stands 1 3/4 inches or 45 mm tall to the top of its swing handle when it is in the up position. The salt or spice pot is made from a solid silver in a novelty miniature water pale or bucket shape that has a circular body with slightly tapering sides, it was once internally gilded or gold plated and the pot stands on a slightly raised circular foot rim, the upper rim has a relief rope like handle on either side that is attached to a silver swing handle and the outer body has a raised relief rib decorated band running around its center, the outer body has also been wonderfully engrave decorated with Chinese flowers and foliage under a decorative upper border and the pot has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram, the underside of the body or base has been impressed with an unknown Chinese silversmith or maker and silver mark all as photographed below and I estimate that this read more
