Antique Chinese Vase Porcelain Green Crackle Glaze This vase was purchased in Hong Kong in November 1971 and came from my father's estate. He was a world traveler and avid collector of Chinese porcelain and Chinese and Asian art. Lovely, intense, monochrome, apple green, crackle glaze vase. The mouth rim is brown as is the footring. The base is apple green and the footring has some remaining glaze. A bit of extra glaze on the base created some specking. A medium-length, straight neck connects with the onion-shape bulb that is the lower portion of this vase. The proportion between neck and bulb is virtually half and half. The thick glaze adorns the inside of the neck as well. On the bulb section t are two small indentations that were obviously made prior to glazing; they appear very close to one another (see photo). Perhaps the vase was bumped by other pieces shortly after it was created by the artist. The classic shape of this vase makes for a lovely decorative item or as a nice addition to a collection of green crackle vases of different shapes. The vase is in quite good condition. T are a couple of tender edge spots on the mouth rim. A very light, surface appears on the neck and two on the bulb. T are a couple of very small nicks on the footring.
