Lovely old toaster with fancy grillwork sides and top. Inside shows use and a bit of rust that could be cleaned up; very little sign of wear to the exterior. Cord, on the other hand is included for antique value only! I did plug it in once to be sure it works but I do not recommend a repeat performance unless you want to wrap electrical tape on it here and there. Jordan Marsh Co. was a major department store that began in Boston in the mid 1800's and was the very first so-called "department store" when large buildings of retail owned by Mr. Jordan & Mr. Marsh were combined at a point now known as Downtown Crossing in the center of retail in Boston. That's also the name of a subway station! Later, Jordan Marsh was also the anchor store at the nation's first shopping mall, Shopper's World in Framingham, MA. I don't think they ever revealed who made their name brand products such as this toaster but it is marked with their name as the registered trademark and the model name "Avona". It would have been one of the foremost producers of such items in that time, as Jordan Marsh was known for it's quality merchandise. In the mid 90's, due to a series of takeovers and mergers, Jordan Marsh became part of Macy's and remains so today. Still today people remember "Jordan's" with love and affection for it's world-famous blueberry muffins and read more
