Offered for auction is a Civil War era coach trunk or chest. This trunk was bought at an estate auction with numerous items being offered from this era. T is no maker's mark. The trunks age is evident in the wear and the original nails and hardware. The brass banding is intact with brass Jenny Lind buttons adorning the top and front.
The trunk is in very good sturdy condition and it appears to have been minimally reconditioned many years ago, see photos. T is a storage compartment built into the lid accessed by a drop down flap, see photo. The dimensions of the trunk are 30" L x 16" H x 18" D. NOT your "run of the mill" trunk and a real beauty! The trunk weighs approx. 27 lb. and it will be shipped in a 32" x 18" x 18" box. Thanks for looking! IMPORTANT please read below: Shipping insurance is required and it is NOT included in USPS Priority or USPS Parcel Post as indicated in the calculator area below. For some reason Ebay's software keeps putting that in the listing when I have checked "Required". I give up trying to fix it! Please disregard if not mentioned below... We prefer PayPal but we also accept money orders and cashier's checks (must clear prior to shipment). No ZERO or NEGATIVE bidders without contact with seller PRIOR to bidding. Unfortunate past experience has warranted that this become necessary. We WELCOME new bidders and we are honored to be a "first purchase". We just need to confirm who we are bidding with before a bid gets placed. It's a LONG story... We do NOT charge a handling or packing material fee on our auctions. Shipping is based on box size, weight and destination. We take great care in packaging items for shipment and use bubble-wrap and foam peanuts. Shipping will be by Priority Mail UNLESS HIGH BIDDER STATES OTHERWISE. Other methods are offered. Insurance is REQUIRED on all items. Any buyer who declines insurance takes full responsibility for items damaged during shipping. Seller will NOT be held responsible for the item once it is shipped. We do OUR VERY BEST to package for a safe delivery. We use bubble-wrap, foam peanuts and at times, double boxing. Despite these efforts, on rare occasions, items may arrive damaged. Postage will require zip code for calculation of costs. Seller prefers Paypal but I do accept money orders and cashier's checks (must clear). No personal checks accepted unless agreed to by seller unless agreed to by seller PRIOR to bidding. Payments must be received within seven days of the close of the auction.
