Up for sale is this lot of 22 primitve marbles from around the 1860s - 1870s. 12 are end of day marbles that were produced at a pottery company. The clay remnants at the end of the work day were rolled and fired into these little treasures for children of the day. T are also 12 handpainted ones with criss cross lines, flowers, bullseyes and one with stars. These come from an older man in central Florida. He has had them for approx 60 yrs. He received them from a neighbor who worked for the Tennessee River Valley Authority. He was told they were dredged up along with some old bottles. He is downsizing and selling his collection.
