That's Experience! ~*~ Clinton Wall Trunks Co. an Archive from the New York Times will come up from a google search. This Archive from 1897 See last picture to read the artical. " TRIED TO WRECK A FACTORY " Big Engine of the Clinton Wall Trunk Company Tampered With!" The headline read. In 1897 a fired engineer came back a year later seeking out revenge. They found loose bearings & nuts loose in the main machine cylinder. If they did not catch it in time' It may have set the whole factory ablaze! The night watchman told police " The fired engineer had been arrested for breaking and entering and he swore revenge." He was the one to talk to about this crime! When he was interagated he said "he didn't remember because he was drunk" ~*~ When it comes to trunks, the greatest invention of all was the wall trunk. Clinton Wall Trunks are probably the most popular, best known and most difficult to find simply because when you have one, you want to keep it. It's more convenient than most trunks you never have to pull it away from the wall to open it and with large trunks like this one. This trunk is a real beauty.There are 4 beautiful Oak slats on top and 2 slat on the front & back & Sides. It has a beautiful metal covering it is in great shape. The lock is unmarked It has a working key so it locks and unlocks securely. New thick black leather handles were added and it has its original end caps. The inside was stripped, scrubbed clean and refinished. It has its 2 lid stays to hold the lid open securely when lifted. The bottom was also completely refinished. It has 4 coaster wheels on the bottom to help move with ease. This trunk is a solid beautiful piece of history that almost wasn't . My camera never fully captures the true beauty. I get many emails saying they look even better in person.
