Oh here is a beautiful clock patent dated 1896. The case is walnut in a lovely rich shade with classical inlay in a lighter wood probably satin wood. It has reeded columns on each side with brass quarter capitals. Interestingly enough it has brass rods in the lower half of the reeding it is a lovely decoration and it also sits on brass feet. It has a silver dial and a crystal bezel. It is a stunning shaped clock more of a tabernacle shape. It also has four brass finials on top. The clock is a westminster chime, time & strike, spring wind movement. The westmister chime mechanism is mounted below in horizontal position wind through the side of the case. It is in running condition but it could use a complete over haul Ã,Â- cleaning, tuning etc. There is an extension piece for the time shut off that is missing but that can be easily replaced. This is an eight day clock and inside it has a medallion that says patent in Canada 1896 and also patent applied for in USA. The surface of the clock case is very good Ã,Â- it appears to be the original finish. The face has a little bit of scratching and IÃ,Â'm not sure if it can be polished or not I suspect it could. And again it has a wonderful silvered dial. The clock hands are very fancy. I have had my clock man Mr. Phil Young of Belfast, Maine look at this clock and give me all of the above mentioned information. He is quite pleased with it and would be happy to do the over haul work for the next owner of this clock if that owner so wishes. He is excellent - he is a Scottish master and I trust his judgment completely. So here you go a wonderful 19th century classical design clock. The clock measures 23 Ã,½Ã,Â" at highest x 12 Ã,½Ã,Â" at widest x 6 5/8Ã,Â" at deepest.
