Offered is this dramatic antique Cloisonne caddy or vase with a lid with enameled decoration in brass fittings, very heavy for it's size. Just the magnitude of the level of craftsmanship and skill it took to hand make this piece is incredible. Truly a very high quality item and was never mass produced considering how much time it takes to make a simple piece . Bottom has what looks a hallmark or signature of the artist. It looks like a oval with a line through it. It displays wonderfully and would compliment any collection. Sorry for so much info...but I never seen one quite like this one and I believe it is one of the harder pieces to come across. I The larger main panels which gets bigger from the bottom to top, has a blue ground with red flowers with pink centers, green stems and leaves all connected from top to bottom by copper wire fittings. Top left in the panels has a green and pink butterfly as well. The theme looks to be flowers in water with a butterfly flying over it. Next panel up has a double pink heart motif in brass that extends outwards to a deep red then green designs. The side of the lid is in a white ground and scalloped dark blue boarders same geometric design as the design on the bottom that meets the brass base.
