This is an antique Cobalt Blue Porcelain Enamel Washboard. The washboard is a Soap Saver offered in the Sears Catalog in 1899. The upper metal and lower cobalt blue porcelain enamel scrubbing board and in good condition with a little rusting. T is a chip in the enamel near the bottom (see pic) and a mark on another area. The metal in front of the washboard reads "National Washboard Co, Chicago-Saginaw-Memphis, Soap Saver, Trademark Reg. US. Pat Made in USA No 197, 118. It measures 24-1/2 inches high and 12-1/2 inches wide and 2-1/4 deep at the top. This is truly a lovely antique cobalt blue washboard from the turn of the 20th Century.
