Antique Cobalt Stoneware Stylized Spotted Bird Crock ca. 1830 Exceptional Condition 2 Gal I was able to purchase a crock collectors inventory recently and will be listing several this week. Up for auction is this beautiful piece of Stoneware decorated with a wonderful cobalt Bird design on the face. This dates from ca 1830s and is in very collectable condition. The bold deep cobalt Blue Bird decoration is extremely well done. Beautiful stylized crisp Bird decor with excellent brush marks. Spotted design, the bird proudly stands atop some stylized foliage. The handles are perfect and fully intact. Some fry does exists but does not diminish the rarity and beauty of this crock. See detailed pictures. Crisp clear art on this piece and such attention to the subject was paid by the artist. Very thick cobalt as well. Good solid thump when tapped no vibrations at all! NO CHIPS-NO CRACKS-NO HAIRLINES! Very solid and beautiful. A great crock for the discriminating collector. This 2 gallon crock Measures 9" tall and has a diameter of 10". It is heavy weighing just over 13 pounds.
