Antique Coin: GEORGIUS III·D:G·REX 1797 Britannia Penny “Antique One Cent Coin – Georgius III D: G-Rex” A wonderful antique UK coin is this Georgius !!! D: G-Rex Britannia Coin. I am told it is a one-cent coin. It is dated 1797 and quite heavy to have one in your pocket. The one side is the draped bust of George III on the opposite Britannia seated on a rock holding a branch and trident, shield resting along side, waves around ship to left. Condition The piece is extremely worn; both George III and Britannia are visible but barely. The date is well formed and easily readable.
