For your consideration today is this very nice antique, early 1900's Columbia Phonograph Company, cylinder phonograph bottom case for the Graphophone model. We are not sure what exact model this would match up with, but if anyone would like to share any information, we would be greatly appreciated!! This is a very neat looking bottom part for the phonograph case, it really shows well with the extra nice Graphophone label that has a great majority of it still in place, this auction is for the bottom only as you see it, as t are no other parts that we have. The box measures 12" wide and 7.75" front to back at the top, then inside measurement at the top is 10 1/8" wide by 6" front to back. The bottom measures 11 7/8" wide by 7 5/8" front to back. The case is overall in very solid shape with no signs of bad structure damage, t are some dings and chips in places that we will mention, but overall remains very sturdy. The front side has the label of course, the decal has a couple scratches between the R and A, then some small dings towards the right end area. But overall, the item is very sharp looking yet, with the gold and black coloring being very nice and nothing faded or discolored. The front has a chip at the top left and the bottom left corners, but the rest of the front is really in fine shape with only minimal marks or dings. Very nice finish in this area as well. T is no ID or metal tag, but the small nail holes show w it would have been on the front, top area. The right end is in very nice shape with no chips, and just has some small marks and t, but nothing major at all, t is a slide lever for the catch at the top that is in pretty solid shape, the catch is still on the inside, also sound is the round metal inlet ring for the crank, they do have some loss of finish, but they are very sturdy. The back side has a small chip at the top left corner that is less than an inch long, and the bottom left corner has one about 3/4" long, t are a few other small dings along the top and bottom ridges, then the middle area is also showing very nice varnish, with some light dings that do not show hardly at all. The other end has no big chips and just a few light dings along the ridges, t is one dent, in the middle that is very small, then just limited marks, so another part that is pretty clean. T is no slide for the catch, but the metal that is slides on is t, nothing inside for the catch, and overall the beading is still very attractive with lots of nice display! The bottom sides shows the most wear with some of the veneering peeling along the edges, along with some pieces that are missing, they are on both of the small end sides, t are 3 tacks acting as feet which I think are not original, t are a couple nail holes, then lots of other wear and small dings, but very solid overall. The inside has the four corner mounting spots, but they do look like they are going to need some tinkering as they as look a little larger or worn some, but the four corner flats seem good, t is of course stains and darkening from years of the motor running over it, t are some soft dings along the top, inside edges with only one being more than just a tiny spot, and has a couple small nail holes in the bottom that do not go through. This is a very sound cabinet bottom that is loaded with super display, and really hope that it can be of good use for someones collection!!
