Bid based on your own opinion. Awesome Cooper's Hand Adze Mid To Late 1800's The makers mark on this one is hard to make out, appears to be two lines first line possibly starts out with initials W B. Second line looks like it may say Shettie CO. The tool has moderate to heavy pitting. as seen in pics. These were used by barrel makers to shape the inside curves of the staves. The hammer end would sometimes be used to drive bands into place by striking another tool called the hoop driver. The handle is not original but appears to fit tool well and is fixed tight to head.
