ANTIQUE COPPER & BRASS SPIRIT KETTLE WITH

STAND AND BURNER

Attractive and Unique describe this antique beauty. This is an extremely heavy kettle due to the use of copper and brass! I believe this to be from the late 1800s.

This auction consists of the handled kettle with lid, the handled stand and the fuel pot.

A beautiful patina covers this piece and I didn't want to clean off the years of aging that give it personality.

The base measures 10.75 inches in diameter and 8.75 inches tall.

The kettle itself measures 10.5 inches in diameter and is just short of being 12 inches tall.

When set on the base, this entire piece is 16 inches tall!

Intricate details are on the base "feet" of the holder, they appear to be fish, serpents something? Their bodies wind up the sides and the kettle rests on them. The base also has two handles which appear to me to be porcelain. The center of the base has an opening to hold the fuel pot. The lid on the fuel pot screws on and off. The base is rectangular in shape.

The kettle is round and has a very ornate handle. The holder on the handle is made of the same material as the handles on the base, I think porcelain. The kettle rests securely on the stand with brass "pegs" that are attached to two sides of the kettle. I don't know what the handle on the lid is made of, it is screwed on with a brass screw, it could be made of wood? The interior of the kettle and the lid are lined with tin. In the center of the kettle, t is a tin cylinder. You can look at the pictures to see this.

The overall condition of this antique is remarkable. T are some dings on the kettle from years of use, but nothing major or anything that takes away from its beauty .
