From between 1870-1910: a matching Set of Copper Desk Blotter Ends. Not stamped: ? before 1891. Either Japanese/Chinese in truth, or American, made during the craze for 'Japonaise' (my choice). No maker's mark. In excellent condition, with no damage to the metal. Old patina, with only a little loss from old sticky tags removed some years ago. The background to each cartouche is hand-hammered, raising the vaguely oriental design into high relief. Hand worked. In further research, I have found that these could be classified as from the Arts And Crafts Movement. They are definitely Hand-made, though I have always felt that items with this aesthetic are more 'stolid'. These blotter ends are not as elaborate as the full-blown 'High Victorian' style that is taking place at the same time that these were probably made, so it is possible. Your decision.
Measurements: 3 1/4" wide x 21" long. Sent Parcel Post within the U.S. for $12.28. Buyer to pay shipping and insurance. International bidding accepted, just add Customs.
