Up for Auction is a wonderful Antique Copper Samovar I purchased this Samovar off EBAY out of Fort Myers,Florida. As seen in the photos the marks on the bottom of the Urn reads: JOS.HEINRICHS,PARIS+ NEW YORK with the # 8, PAT.APL'D FOR, on the bottom of the warmer reads: JOS.HENRICHS, PARIS NEW YORK. This Samovar stands 12" to the top of the final, and is 9" to the outside of the side handles, the bottom stand is brass with a upper copper ring to support the Urn itself, the legs are brass and have a vary detailed design etched into them, this Samovar was vary tarnished when I recivied it, I spent a great deal of time to bring this piece back to it's like new condition,I know that t are some people out t that like that Patina look,I am one that really enjoys how these Samovar's were fresh out of the craftsmans hands, this is a functional Samovar, the spigot is solid brass and it does not leak, the inside has the orginal tinning coat, and is in excellant condition, the warmer is complete with the exception of the Knob that adjusts the wick, the wick cover moves up and down as it should,I have brought several of these back life and this is one of the better pieces I have done, bid wih confidence, and enjoy. If you have questions please email me and I respond ASAP!! Also check my feed back it supports my commitment to offering quality items!! Thanks for looking and by all means enjoy LIFE !! is some informaion I found on the internet: Several websites indicate that Joseph Heinrichs company was established in 1910, however, I have read that this company was, in fact, founded in 1897. It went bankrupt in 1937, at which time, Angelo Scavullo, who had originally been hired by Heinrichs as an errand boy in 1901, purchased the company, along with several associates and changed the name to Legion Utensils Co. This seems to be the most accurate account, as I have seen several samovars, by this company, with maker's marks indicating a patent date of April, 1907. Since this one indicates "patent applied for", I am assuming this would pre-date those, making this item at least 100 years old.
