All original, this is a magnificent antique copper samovar with a solid brass spigot. Circa late 1800's to early 1900's. Truly beautiful, it has gorgeous design...scallop swirl around the top, cover and base. Graceful detail throughout, continuing with the entire spigot and handle connections, along with the stamped design around the top of the base. The side handles are wood and show off a beautiful linear detail in their design. The spigot has a top bar-handle that works in a back and forth motion and is adorned with its lovely antique glass bead. The inside shows the metal hollow tube. A heavy metal weight was originally once heated and placed into this tube, which would heat the water. Underneath the top cover, the lettering is stamped, and it reads: "98 WARRANTED BEST LONDON MANUFACTURE". The top small finial is missing, but does have a "screw-size" threader, allowing for an easy replacement. T is a small, approx. ¼" size dent, off center between spigot and handle, and a few limited dings. These are old, and if desired, can certainly be taken out. None of this interferes with the beauty of this gorgeous, highly designed antique copper samovar. It has a wonderful size, with close approx. measurements of: 17" high, 15" handle to handle, 15 ½" front spout to back and a 10" total diameter, including the scallop swirl edge. This beautiful samovar, has been left in its 'as is' original condition, showing off its wonderful verdigris/patina, while leaving any cleaning/polishing up to the buyer, if desired.
