This antique brooch is quite gorgeous with the coral cameo center surrounded by a lacey filagree frame. The clasp is a "C" clasp. I can find no identifying marks, but the cameo woman looks German to me. It is a heavy piece for its size and measures 2" tall by 1 1/2" wide. I am sure that it is gold filled or plated. A lovely piece! I am liquidating my mother's estate. As she was quite the collector, I will be listing items for some time. Items will be properly packed and shipped with insurance included in the purchase price. Due to the fact that there are those who have not paid for their purchases within a reasonable time period, I will need to ask that all auctions be paid within 48 hours of the auction's end. I will be happy to combine purchases, but if you are bidding on an item that ends a week after the first one, please pay for the first auction and I will adjust the shipping for your subsequent purchases. I am sorry but the mess is piling up on me and I need to have some breathing room! Thank you. ! I took this to a jeweler and he told me that he believes the cameo is actually shell not coral. It is antique and the filagree is gold. I found another cameo brooch that is definately shell. It is larger than this piece and weighs half of what this one does.
