This auction is for a gorgeous country berry gathering splint basket. I think this basket is at least 50 - 100 years old based on the patina of the wood. T is some breakage. Please see the photos. T are no berry stains, so I don't think it was ever used. The carved bentwood handle is wood and nicely grained. The basket is an oval measuring about 8 ½" x 10 ½". The height is about 2 ¼" excluding the handle. I bought this basket at a farm estate auction. Please ask any questions which you may have before bidding and use your best judgment as to the merits of each basket. I am including lots of pictures of each basket. I have no special basket knowledge; so please ask questions. I have purchased most of these baskets at local farm and estate auctions in Northwest Pennsylvania (PA) and lower western New York (NY). They are pretty much in "as found" condition. (I learned the hard way with a hooked rug that sometimes scrubbed clean antiques are not better!) I bought the baskets because I simply liked them. I look for things that are handcrafted and which show how people are naturally inclined to add beauty to everyday utilitarian objects. I need to make some room in my house so I am selling off my collection. I'm starting the prices low with no reserves (NR), so that they sell and I hope someone else will be very happy to get them. I will combine shipments to save you money if you win more than one auction. Any information that can be provided by other e-bayers is welcomed. Please pay promptly; I accept paypal, money orders and personal checks. Shipment will be prompt after payment is received and if paid by check then after it clears at the bank. I have excellent feedback and am sure you will be happy with your purchase. If the item was misrepresented then I will refund the bid amount upon return of the goods.
