Here's a beautiful, authentic, antique dough bowl in excellent condition! Hand-hewn from a single piece of wood more than a century ago, it's a rugged bowl with loads of character. The surface is old unspoiled, the patina has been worn smooth in places. Its rich, warm coloring, stains, old worm holes and signs of past use give clues to its history and original purpose. We found it stored away in an old barn we cleaned out and it's well-preserved and simply beautiful. Even after more than a hundred years, this bowl still has lots of visible carving marks from when it was made by hand. It also has a nice, oblong shape with folksy-looking carved carrying handles on the ends. As for dimensions, it measures 37 3/4 inches long, 14 1/4 inches wide, and about 6 1/2 inches high. It's a perfect item to display in the center of a kitchen table, dining room sideboard, or harvest table. It would also look great on a fireplace hearth or standing in the corner leaning against a wall. It has no problems with dry rot, termites, or active woodworms. Structurally sound and very solid, this old dough bowl will last another century with proper care! Best of all, it's the real deal, NOT one of those newly made Mexican imports or resin bowls.
