Antique Cowles Carriage Hearse Coach Lantern circa 1870 Funeral Horse Drawn Carriage lamp DESCRIPTION: Vintage C. Cowles & Co. New Haven, CT. Hearse Carriage Horse Drawn Coach Lantern. This is an early Circa 1870 1890 lantern from a Funeral Carriage. Unique Brass partially drawn drapes only let a small amount of light to illuminate the area through the beveled glass. I am assuming because it has a small electric bulb socket which is porcelain and a wire at some point in time it was electrified . A really neat and rare piece! SIZE: 15" long X 6" wide MARKING: C.
