This crazy quilt appears to be quite old, but I do not know the exact age. It has many different examples of fabrics including a few velvets and has a very pretty backing material that is a bird & floral print. It measures approx 71" x 79" (the first 4 pics show the entire quilt), there does not appear to be anything between the outer edge & backing, but it does appear that the quilt pieces are backed by other fabrics or another top ? The quilt is showing some age, some fraying and tears, age discoloration, some patching here and there. The backing is done in long strips, it is good in most areas but does have some small holes and a few patches here and there. There is both machine and hand-stitching used, some nice needlework / embroidery, and I do not find any dates but there is some initials. I don't think it is in good enough shape to put to use, but would make a nice display or wall piece. Or, it could be scrapped to make other items, the backing material would make some beautiful pillows or other items that would go well with victorian / antique decorating schemes. I think it is a nice early example crazy quilt, but please expect it to be somewhat age appropriate as far as condition.
