Hi Everyone I know I have been away for a while. Busy with work and acquiring some great pieces for all of you! For your consideration is a Very Good Example of a Circa 1840 Ivory Silk Gown, This is a study piece. The garment would need a lot of restoration to wear. I have it hanging for over 20 years as a display piece. It is very early and wonderful. Original Baleen Stays , completely hand stitched. Wonderful polished cotton lining. Hand done bobbin lace on sleeves. Tiny 18 to 20 per inch stitching. Professional dressmaker for a wealthy family most likely. Good friend I bought it from bought it at Brimfield Acres in the 80's. High quality silk and lining. Will describe condition below in more detail. Please note I start with low starting bid and reserve the right to end the auction if no interest or not enough bids.
