This is a very sweet and rare child's antique crib quilt circa 1930. Turkey red embroidery, redwork, depicting sunbonnet Sues doing their daily chores for each day of the week. Monday, washing, tuesday, ironing, wednesday sewing, thursday baking and so forth. Very cute with each chore labeled with its day. The images are particularly dear. All hand done and hand quilted. Each block is about 8" x 8", the quilted parts are 23" x 31" and the overall quilt with the decorated border is 36" x 38". Nice fine even quilting stitches in a diamond pattern at about 8-9 stitches per inch and the rows about 1" apart. Perfect condition, fresh from a trunk of a great old Maine estate.
