Up for auction is an Antique Criterion Disc Music Box that is about 100 Years Old.

It is mostly complete and most of what's is in good condition, but it is missing a few parts. Apparently someone tried to repair it many years ago and forgot to put some of the parts back with the machine. The case is mahogany and it is a model 100 Criterion (has the metal I.D. tag). The case is 14 ½" wide, by 12 ¼" deep, by 10" tall. T is only one of the metal "tune sheets" (metal discs) with it. This is a single comb music box and the combs and dampers are all t and in good condition. The paper logo sign under the lid appears to be original. The lip prop is broken, but all t (could probably be brazed back together). The governor gears look to be all t, but the cover for the spring barrel is missing and any bull gear(s) that would attached to it. The mainspring is still in the barrel and looks intact. I did not get a crank handle with this music box either.

Those of you that do music box repairs could probably restore this box if you could find the parts that are missing from another parts machine and it would be a nice one! I didn't get this machine dirt cheap since it has a good look to it, so have a modest reserve on it.

If you are willing to pay a reasonable amount to own it, it will be sold. That part is up to you. The shipping would be $20. in the continental USA unless you want insurance and then it would just be that amount more (based on the selling price of this machine). Shipping to other countries would just be the actual amount. Payment by cashier's check or money order will ship right away. Personal checks must clear before shipping. Illinois residents must add 6 ¾% state sales tax unless you have a valid resale number. If you're up to a worthwhile restoration project, I think this one would qualify. Thanks for bidding and Good Luck!
