We offer for sale another beauty from our dwindling collection of old Crooked Knifes. We started gathering these back in the late fifties when they were fairly easy to find - now they aren't! We found this one in Maine and it has a beautifully carved flame handle which as you can see is well carved and artfully executed. Reverse side is impressed with a brand mark RB obviously the carver or carver/owner's mark? It is 7 ½ inches long. Age is Circa 1880 - condition has usually wear and minor surface rust, which is typical of a piece of this age, please look at all the photos. Please note: This is a rare l eft handed example ; as you probably know this type of knife was used for various chores but used chiefly in this area for basket-making .
