Several years ago I bought this lamp from the estate of the King family from upstate New York. They were married in 1917 and this is one of the treasures that I bought. This beautiful lamp is 19 inches tall and the base only is 14 inches tall. The shade is 11 inches wide at the widest point and at the bottom of the shade it is 8 inches wide. The prisms are 4 inches long and the base is 7 1/2 inches wide. I don't know much about cut glass but this shade is decorated with four cut flowers and several trailing vines and leaves. The base is decorated with the same three flowers and more trailing vines of leaves. Along the edge of the shade and at the bulb of the base are cross hatchings and quarter size medallions. The 30 prisms are all t and are in excellent shape- no points missing. Something that I haven't seen in other lamps is the inclusion of two small glass decorative discs which the bulbs fit through. These glass discs add more fire and luster to the lamp when it is lighted. The lamp's brass parts have a beautiful aged patina that has never been polished. The two light sockets are held in place with serpentine arms. Attached to the lamp sockets are the original brass pull chains. You can have a bright light by pulling both chains, or a soft romantic light by pulling only one. The lamp contains the original white silk cord and is in remarkably good shape for its age and works great, but I would definitely plan to rewire this 90 year old or so lamp. I have carefully checked my beautiful lamp for any nicks etc. and can find none. That is not to say a flea bite or two might be hidden somew, but I cannot find even one. I hope that you will find a home for my beautiful lamp. It will make a warm addition to your home in time for the Christmas holidays.
