This is a beautiful Early 19th Century Dark Blue Historical Staffordshire Transferware Creamer . The scene is that of "Bear Forest, Ireland", measures 6" long x 4 3/4" high to the tip of the handle. The maker is unknown. With crisp and richly deep blue and bright white transfer decoration, this creamer is in excellent condition with NO cracks, NO repairs and NO reglazing. T is only a 3/8" chip under the spout (see photo 7) and some glaze rubbing at the top of the handle and very tiny glaze rubs on the rim near the chip. The glaze rubs do not go into the ceramic, but I mention them nonetheless. The bottom has a blue transfer mark reading "Bear Forest, Ireland". Pattern Reference: The Dictionary of Blue and White Printed Pottery 1780-1880 Volume I by A. W. Coysh and R. K. Henrywood. pg. 36 (Maker unknown. Morning Glory Border Series. This house is close to the River Lee near Cork. It was described in 1825 as "a modern villa" with a semi-circular pillared portico, three bays, and a vestibule at one end.).
