Antique Wooden Chambers Pot-Toilet/Commode. This Chamber Pot is in VERY NICE condition, for it's age. It was found in the barn of my Grandparents farm. I have given it a clean up with a wet rag and then later, after it dried, a polishing of PLEDGE. It is all original wood and finish, just cleaner than I found it. It has not been redone or messed with in anyway. I have included 12 pictures that show it's condition quite well. I do not know much about these toilets, as I am young....(ish). And, quite frankly, when I had a relative around, that could have told me anything about this piece, I was not interested too deeply, because, it had poop in it at some time. But, now, as I am getting old...(ish), I think it's quite cool. -DETAILS- This Chambers Pot stands 17.25 inches tall, 17 inches wide, and 16.75 inches deep. With the lid up, it is 32.5 inches tall. It is tongue and grove, I believe OAK, but, I am not an expert on wood. It has a dark finish. And, t are a few rough points, such as the two little gray spots on the seat that can be seen in the 2nd and 3rd photos. The 8th photo, or the photo of the underside, you can see a small piece has been broken off of the wooden pot holder. And, the corner photos show one is cracked. But, this is a well made piece and very old. But, the worst flaw with this Chambers pot is on the very top wood. The center piece has had some water damage, (I believe that is what caused this, anyway). It is rippled. This is most noticeable in the 2nd closed photo and the photo from underneath. To stand and look at this Chamber pot, it is not noticeable, but, it shows up well in photos, which, I am grateful for, as it would be difficult to describe. The enamal pot was found with this piece, and I assume is the original one. It measures 8 inches tall and is 9 7/8 inches wide. It has a few spots on it, and they are not through, (not holes). The handle holder on one side is bent a little, but, works fine. The cover for the enamal pot is wooden and matches the piece. Very nice. Both pieces that open up are hinged. I do not know what else to say about this Chamber pot. It is CLEAN. And, it is beautiful. It would make a nice decoration for most any home and a great conversation piece.
