We are delighted to offer you this smashing antique sterling silver and many many sparkling crystal stones, as well as hematite gems, festoon necklace, from the Roaring Twenties! We see lots of necklaces of this style made with rhodium plated metal, but this is the first we've seen made of sterling silver! And it is a beaut!! Fully marked and signed by the maker, Amsel, this sparkler features a complete line of small, round, individually prong set , old European cut crystal stones, from end to end, and some extras in the center! T are also 3 marquis cut hematite, or black diamond, stones in the center area, for added glamor! Hematite, along with black onyx, were two favored gemstones used often by jewelry makers in the Art Deco era. This fine old treasure measures 16" long, and has not one, but 2 extensions pieces at its end, allowing Madame to choose the most suitable length for the dress of the evening! And an added dazzling gem completes the stand ! The center piece drapes 3/4" below the main chain, with 3 additional festoon flourishes on either side! The necklace is marked 'sterling amsel' on back of the centerpiece , as well as on the sturdy fold-over clasp. The necklace weighs 18.6 grams, and is in very fine condition, free of damage, with no missing, chipped, cracked or discolored gemstones. It still has the little price tag
