Welcome to my auction for an Antique double bass. I have taken this to 3 separate bass dealers/restorers and have been told its a 'bohemian blockless wonder', of czech origin and approx 110 years old. Absolutely beautiful bass, with a great vibe about it! Unfortunately it has been subjected to a DIY repair job in the 1970's that hasn't held up well. The neck is no longer attached to the body, although the dowels are still there and it actually still slots on quite well.the bridge,nut,and tailpiece are not present either, although I will throw in a bridge if you'd like one. I was basically told by all 3 repair shops that I had 2 choices. If i simply want to get it sounding great so i can get out there and play it,Re attach the neck, get it as strong as they can,add the parts that are needed and get it rockin'! The other option was a full restoration. This would be expensive, but a worthwhile investment. I recently saw one of these fully restored on an American website and the price was well into 5 figures. That all the info I have, but I will try and answer any questions you may have,and can send more pics on request. This is also listed elsewhere so may be ended if there are no bids here. A serious auction for serious buyers only please. I will miss this bass, but it simply needs to be played.sold as seen,and any sensible offers
