I am offering this absolutely fantastic vintage Dresden ornament, a paddle wheel boat, in excellent condition. It measures approximately 4 1/4" and is not marked in any way, but I think it was made in Germany. This boat is made of 3-dimensional cardboard with silver trim. Two paddle wheels that turn are applied to the sides. Two smokestacks with cotton smoke and two deck houses are applied to the top and the sides of the boat are embossed with portholes. A twisted wire bale is attached to the wheels for hanging. Embossed silver paper trim is applied around the top of the boat for the railing. This ornament is in great condition. The only damage is slight. Besides being a little dusty with age, a little of the cardboard railing is missing near the tip of the boat and the tip of the boat has a dark stain. Otherwise, it's unbelievable! Even the cotton smoke is intact! Thanks for your interest in this wonderful piece.
Hello. I received a question about the surface of the boat and took a closer look myself. As my pictures show, t are small dark spots to the brown body of the boat. These must have occurred with age and improper storage. So the boat is not pristine...but really pretty nice for a fragile item such as this one. When I first wrote this listing and looked at the boat, I didn't notice the brown spots. That's how insignificant they are. But looking at it with magnification... or very close up, they are visible. Just wanted you to make sure you look at the pictures and are aware of this spotting. Like I said in the listing, this is a wonderful piece. Thanks again, Brenda
