A very unusual old 2 stringed musical instrument called a Duo-Lyka which I think dates from between 1900 - 1930's.It is made of wood which has a nice grain and patina.A triangular shaped body with a nicely shaped headstock which has 2 old style original tuners which are in good workable condition. There is an original metal tailpiece, still in place and it has a pretty shaped clover leaf-form sound hole. The bridge is not the original to the instrument. The front of the Duo-Lyka has the original polychrome painted decoration which has a geometric design and a numbered fingerboard 1-14, please note there are no metal frets. Also marked British Made - Duo-Lyka above the sound hole. The instrument is in good all round condition with just some loss/ chipping of the polychrome painted decoration, mainly around the edges which I have tried to show in the photo's.The neck of the Duo-Lyka is straight, and it has been fitted with a pair of metal strings and is in a playable condition although would benefit from having the correct bridge. The measurements are 74cm long x 25 cm wide.A unique and different stringed instrument which if you collect old and interesting Musical Instruments you will not be disappointed!
